Karimnagar: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee is functioning under "RSS leader" A. Revanth Reddy, BRS working president and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao have alleged.
"The Congress’ former chief minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, had written a letter to Sonia Gandhi asking why an RSS leader was made the chief of the party in Telangana," said Rama Rao. "Does Revanth Reddy have the guts to make a statement openly that he did not work for the RSS and he does not hate Muslims," he asked.
Rama Rao was speaking at a public meeting after inaugurating the district superintendent of police office and distribution of double-bedroom houses during his visit to Jagtial district on Tuesday.
"Let the Congress party give 60 guarantees, not six, but the people of Telangana are not going to believe such gimmicks. The Congress party is a cunning old fox which has failed miserably on all fronts," he said.
Rama Rao said the people had given 11 chances to the Congress, but it could not do any good during its 65 years of rule of the nation.
"People faced a lot of problems during the reign of the Congress government. Farmers were deprived of many benefits, they faced water problems, and an inadequate supply of seeds and fertilisers in those days."
"As BRS leaders, we can proudly say Chandrasekhar Rao is our Chief Minister. Can the Congress leaders say in advance who will be their CM if they are elected to power in
TS."
He said, "The BJP leaders are indulging in religious fanaticism and leaving no chance to instigate communal disturbances. I ask Modi, are you a follower of Gandhi or Godse? Modi should answer this to the people of Nizamabad."
In a sarcastic tone, the minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the "god" who increased cylinder prices from Rs400 to Rs1,200, petrol prices from Rs70 to Rs110, and raised the prices of all essential commodities.
"Before the elections in 2014, Modi promised the people that he would bring back the black money and deposit Rs15 lakh of this in the Jan Dhan bank accounts of the people. He promised he would provide employment to 2 crore youths every year. But, after coming to power, he betrayed the people. The people are not going to believe Modi and the BJP," he added.
Rama Rao said that the KCR Colony, which was inaugurated in Jagtial, was one of the largest outside Hyderabad with over 4,300 double-bedroom houses. He promised to bring major brands like Pepsi and Coca-Cola to set up their units in the Jagtial district to provide employment to the locals.
Later, the minister visited Rajanna Sircilla district and distributed Gruhalakshmi cheques to 1,747 persons, and double-bedroom houses to around 1,260 beneficiaries and assured the people of the distribution of the remaining 577 double-bedroom houses at Peddur in the next phase.
