On the occasion of Jummat Ul Vida, the last Friday in the month of Ramzan, the traffic police issued a slew of diversions and restrictions in and around Old City, Charminar and Secunderabad from 9 am to 3 pm.
In an advisory, the Hyderabad traffic police said that the main roads between Charminar and Madina, Charminar and Murgi Chowk, and Charminar and Rajesh Medical Hall in Shalibanda will be shut.
Traffic moving from Nayapul towards Charminar will be diverted towards City College at Madina junction, while those moving from Nagulchintha and Shalibanda towards Charminar will be diverted towards Hari Bowli and Volga Hotel T-junction at the Himmatpura junction.
Those moving from Kotla Alijah towards Charminar will be diverted to Hafiz Danka mosque at Chowk Maidan Khan, while those moving from Moosabowli will be diverted at Motigalli, towards Khilwath ground, Rajesh Medical Hall Shalibanda, and Fathe Darwaza Road.
Further, traffic from Etebar Chowk towards Gulzar House will be diverted towards Bibi Bazaar, traffic
from Mitti Ka Sher towards Ghanzi Bazaar and High Court Road, and from Dabirpura towards Mandi Mirlam Market.
The traffic police also designated spaces for parking vehicles at Gulzar Function Hall, Mufeed ul Anam Ground, Charminar Bus Terminal, Ayurvedic Unani Hospital and Khilwat Ground.
In Secunderabad, the stretch between Mahankali Police Station and Ramgopalpet Road Junction, on MG Road, will be shut till 1 pm, while there will be free traffic flow from Rocha Bazaar to Ranigunj.
Officials said that those moving from Bata X Roads towards Subhash Road will be diverted at the Mahankali Police Station, towards Lala temple.
Public transport will also be hit on the day, with buses heading towards Charminar being terminated at Afzalgunj. Buses going to districts via Nayapul, Madina from MGBS will proceed via Chaderghat Rotary, Nalgonda X Roads, Chanchalguda, Saidabad T-junction, IS Sadan, DMRL junction and Midhani junction, towards Bandlaguda and Aramghar.
