Traffic Police conduct special drive to issue learning licences

Traffic police and regional transport authorities have decided to conduct a special drive in the city Commissionerate to identify drivers not having a valid licence and facilitate them with a learning licence before filing a charge sheet in the court.

Officials of both Traffic and RTA have approached the courts to pursue the possibility of charge sheeting violators. The



committee asked officials to act tough against violators and asked them to take up adequate awareness campaigns on road safety and the consequences of traffic violations.

At a recent meeting, officials have decided to conduct special drives against license-less driving twice a week and help them get a learner’s licence from the RTA, before filing charge sheets on them.
