Hyderabad police have advised people attending the Independence Day celebrations at Golconda Fort on Tuesday to follow security protocol.Police have also imposed traffic restrictions at Golconda Fort and the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Tuesday .
In an advisory , Hyderabad police commissioner M Mahendar Reddy asked people proceeding to the parade ground at Golconda Fort not to carry hand bags, briefcases, cameras, tiffin boxes or any other containers. “Any person found carrying such items will be subjected to frisking and checking by police,“ the commissioner said.DCP, West Zone, A Venkateswara Rao said 5,000 police personnel would be deployed in and around the venue.
The road from Ramdev Guda to Golconda Fort will be closed for general vehicular traffic between 7 am and 12 noon. The entry from Ramdev Guda to Golconda Fort will be one way for vehicles with parking stickers ABC between 7.30 am and 10 am.
D & E class vehicles have to reach the venue through Banja ra Darwaza near Seven Tombs via Shaikpet
Nala and Toli Chowki. They will not be allowed from Ramdev Guda and Makai Darwaza.
General public (F car passes) have to take U-turn at Langer Houz flyover and take a U turn towards Talabkatta. They have to park the vehicles at HUDA park. Those who are from Seven Tombs should park their vehicles inside the Seven Tombs premises. Free shuttle buses would be available at both the places to take people inside Golconda Fort.
Traffic coming towards Parade Grounds from Tivoli Junction will be diverted at Tivoli towards Brooke Bond and NCC Junctions. Traffic coming from Tivoli towards Plaza will be restricted between 8 am and 9 am.
On Independence Day , governor ESL Narasimhan would be hosting a reception (At Home) for dignitaries at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday evening and there is likelihood of traffic congestion on the Raj Bhavan road.
Commuters using the Raj Bhavan Road have been advised to take alternative routes in order to avoid inconvenience between 4.30 pm and 8 pm.
