Traffic under the Oliphant railway bridge at Secunderabad Railway Station has been blocked since Sunday night in view of the ongoing Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited works in the area. The restrictions will remain for the next 15 days, till the Metro Rail works are completed.
Accordingly, motorists passing through the area will have to take detour via alternative routes provided by the Traffic Police. Railway passengers and commuters from Mettuguda, Sitaphalmandi and Musheerabad have to enter the railway station and board trains from Platform No. 10 side at Chilkalguda crossroads or Bhoiguda side.
The city traffic police officials said 60-feet steel bridge was being constructed at Oliphant bridge by HMRL and it would take a fortnight to complete the works.To avoid any
untoward incident and ensure smooth flow of traffic, officials are diverting the traffic through different alternative routes. They also have appealed to the motorists to plan their journeys accordingly and help in avoiding traffic jams in the area.
From Tuesday, vehicles from Musheerabad and Seethaphalmandi end and heading towards Secunderabad and Begumpet will be diverted via Chilkalguda crossroads.
Motorists will have to pass through Alugaddabavi – Rail Nilayam – Sangeeth crossroads and proceed towards Rathifile Bus station and Secunderabad. Those heading towards Begumpet have to take a right turn at Sangeeth crossroads. All the TSRTC city buses coming from Sitaphalmandi and Musheerabad will be terminated at Chilkalguda Rotary.
