"Telangana is in the safe hands of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, and communal harmony will prevail in the state," , Minister K.T. Rama Rao said on Friday, and said he hoped that the "country will come to its senses," with respect to violence arising from religious politics which are not good for the country.
Rama Rao was responding to a request from All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen floor leader in the Legislative Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, that the state government come to the rescue of the family of Syed Saifuddin from Bazaarghat who was shot dead by a RPF constable while on a train from Jaipur to Mumbai on Monday. Rama Rao said the government would provide a job to Saifuddin’s wife and a two-bedroom house for the family.
"Orders will be issued tomorrow (on Saturday) to provide Anjum Shaheen (wife of Saifuddin) a job either in the GHMC, HMDA, or QQSUDA. On
behalf of the BRS, Rs 2 lakh will be deposited for each of Saifuddin’s three children. The MIM too should step forward," Rama Rao said.
"Elections come every five years but stoking of religious fires for votes must be rejected. This has become a serious problem in the country," Rama Rao said.
Owaisi said, "Hate is being spread between Hindus and Muslims and people are being radicalised. Sometimes they speak of ‘love jihad’, sometimes about ‘ghar wapsi’. Why is there so much hatred against Muslims. In Telangana, we are all together, and strong to stop such events from occurring."
T. Raja Singh, MLA from Goshamahal, who was suspended from the BJP last year, sought to speak on the issue but his microphone was cut by the Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy when he referred to the train shooting incident.
