A strike called by trainee nurses in Nizam's Institute Of Medical Sciences (NIMS) for the past three day over poor pay has gathered steam on Tuesday with 300 staff nurses joining to support the cause.
According to nursing officer’s association, 280 trainee nurses have been on strike and have vowed to continue the strike.
“All over India,
there are no trainee nurses and as per the central government order, staff nurses should be given a minimum salary of Rs 20,000. The trainee nurses who have been working with NIMS hospital for several years, are still designated as trainee nurses. However, they have been doing regular staff jobs,” said Laxman Rudavath, member of Nursing Officer's Association.
