Khammam: TRS led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is the only party that thinks about Muslim welfare and progress, asserted Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali.

He was addressing a gathering at TRS minority wing’s Atmeeya Sammelanam held at a madrasa in Cheruvu Bazar, Khammam, on Monday. Later in the evening, he addressed a public meeting at St. Mary’s School in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali noted that Chandrashekhar Rao was a secularist and the TRS a secular party. He took objection to the notion being spread by opposition parties that TRS was having an understanding with BJP.

“We do not have any sort of connection with either Congress or BJP,” he said, adding that political parties with Andhra origin had suppressed Muslims preventing their growth financially.

Telangana government is the only government in the country that has allocated huge amounts of funds for minority communities’ welfare and development. No other State government has appointed a Muslim leader as Revenue Minister,” he said.

“Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar

Rao made me the Revenue Minister and Deputy Chief Minister,” Ali said, adding some opposition parties had been spreading false propaganda against the TRS government.

“The government has been making efforts to protect Wakf properties. Similarly, efforts are being made to protect Wakf lands which are encroached upon by some sections during TDP government led by N Chandrababu Naidu,” he said.

The TRS government during the past four and half years had taken up numerous welfare and development programmes which the TDP and Congress government failed to do in the past 60 years, he averred.

If BJP chief Amit Shah tries to engage in communal politics in the State he would be chased away. The Chief Minister was the ‘badshah’ of Telangana, Ali stated.

He appealed to the Muslim voters to support TRS in ensuing Assembly elections to see Rao in CM’s post again and vote for Khammam TRS nominee P Ajay Kumar.

Khammam MP P Srinivas Reddy, TSIDC Chairman SB Baig and District Library Chairman MA Qamar were present.
