The ruling TRS candidates started filing their nominations for the elections scheduled to be held on December 10. TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is learnt to have finalised the names of candidates before he left for New Delhi on Sunday.
The TRS candidates for the biennial elections to 12 MLC seats under Local Authorities’ Constituencies are Dande Vittal from Adilabad, L Ramana and T Bhanu Prasad from Karimnagar, Kasireddy Narayanareddy and Saichand from Mahbubnagar, MC Koti Reddy from Nalgonda, Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy from Warangal, V Yadava Reddy from Medak, Thatha Madhusudhan from Khammam, Shambhipur Raju and Patnam Mahendar Reddy from Rangareddy, and K Kavitha from Nizamabad constituency.
On Monday, Patnam Mahender and Shambhipur Raju have filed nominations to Rangareddy Local Authorities’ Constituencies in the presence of Ministers P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Ch Malla Reddy along with MLAs from the erstwhile
Rangareddy district. Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy filed nomination to Warangal constituency and was accompanied by Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Satyavathi Rathod and others.
In Khammam, Thatha Madhusudhan was accompanied by Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay and other leaders. V Yadava Reddy filed his nomination to Medak constituency. All the remaining seven MLC candidates are scheduled to file their nominations in their respective constituencies on Tuesday.
The notification for biennial elections to 12 MLCs under Local Authorities’ Constituencies was issued on November 16. While the last date for submission of nominations is November 23, the polling will be held on December 10. The term of 12 sitting TRS MLC seats will expire on January 3 next year. The TRS leadership is confident of retaining all these 12 MLC seats, considering its strong presence in both Urban and Rural Local Bodies.
