TRS-MIM will make a clean sweep in 2019: Akbaruddin Owaisi

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Wednesday said that TRS-MIM will make a clean sweep in 2019 elections in Telangana.

Taking a dig at Congress leaders trying to counter his claims during a short discussion on minority welfare in the House, Owaisi said that the clean sweep of TRS and MIM that was witnessed in GHMC elections will be repeated in 2019 polls in the state. “People are intelligent in this age of social media and know who is working for their welfare,“ he said.

Owaisi showered huge praises on K Chandrasekhar Rao on the floor of the Assembly , and went to the extent



of stating that even the post of chief minister has become small for a dynamic leader such as KCR who treats all communities including Muslims equally .

The MIM floor leader said the aspirations of Muslims in the new Telangana state are getting fulfilled under the leadership of KCR. He urged the government to bring in a subplan for Muslims and appoint a commissioner and director of Urdu schools, and also consider fixing pass marks for Muslim students on a par with SC and ST students as all the expert committees appointed by successive governments have made it clear in its reports that Muslims are most backward.
