The leaders of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) have called for State-wide celebrations on August 23 after Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao signs ‘historic’ agreement with Maharashtra government over construction of irrigation projects on Godavari.
The pink party leaders are set to accord a grand reception to KCR at the Begumpet airport with thousands of people when he returns on August 24 after inking the pact. In this regard, they have started making arrangements. The leaders, who met in Telangana Bhavan on Monday,
claimed that the agreement would solve the farmers' problems in the State and that KCR’s name would remain etched in history.
Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath along with several TRS senior leaders attended the meeting. Naini reportedly wanted each Greater Hyderabad corporator to mobilise 1,000 persons for the reception, following which a public meeting would be held at the airport with nearly 10,000 people in attendance.
