TRS to add more sops for SC,ST in manifesto

The TRS has decided to add a few more sops for SC and ST communities in its election manifesto, sources said on Monday. The sops include life insurance for all SC and ST families and financial assistance to be provided directly to unemployed youth from these communities without involving banks.

The party had constituted a separate committee under the leadership of caretake Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari to prepare a manifesto for the SCs and STs



communities.

The committee held a meeting on Monday and discussed several issues including special focus on the development of SCs and STs, constituting a corporation for the all-round development of tribal gram panchayats and enhancing reservations to SCs and STs on the basis of the 2011 Census.

The meeting was attended by caretaker finance minister Etala Rajendar, MPs Banda Prakash, Sitaram Naik, G. Nagesh Kumar, P. Dayakar and a few others.
