The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will be taking up intense campaigning on social media platforms for municipal elections. TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday directed the party leaders to appoint a social media coordinator for each booth and conduct training programmes to prepare them for creating awareness among people on the government activities through social media.
The ruling party, which has an active social media team, will now have coordinators at the booth
level. These, who are active members of the party, will publicise the State government’s programmes through social media platforms.
“There has been a gradual increase in the impact of social media on elections. All leaders, especially elected representatives or aspiring candidates, must recognise its importance and make optimum use of it. We need to reach out to people through digital platforms,” Rama Rao told party leaders.
