TRS to take up enrollment of graduates for Council elections from Oct 1

TRS Working President and IT Minister KT Rama Rao has called upon the party cadres to take up enrollment of graduates for the ensuing Legislative Council elections under Graduates constituencies in Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda districts from October 1. He urged them to make united efforts and ensure a huge majority for the party candidates in these elections.

Speaking with election in-charges of Graduate constituencies from Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda districts via teleconferencing here on Thursday, Rama Rao also discussed the strategy to be adopted by the party. While pointing out that the elections will be conducted based on the latest voters list, he wanted the party rank and file to give utmost importance to voter enrollment process. He said the process of enrollment has begun in many places and suggested that the in-charges take the help of local graduates to enroll new faces.

The party working president recalled that TRS had won all elections right from Panchayat to Assembly since the formation of the State. Exuding confidence that TRS will also register victory in the Council elections, he said that TRS has registered historical victories in municipal and Zilla Parishad elections. “The State government under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has taken up the twin agenda of welfare and development. As a result, a number of programmes which were not implemented during the six decades of rule under undivided Andhra Pradesh have been taken up and several administrative reforms were ushered in ” he said.

Explaining further, he said that administration was brought closes to the people by reorganizing districts and creating new mandals, revenue divisions and panchayats. He said the fruits of good administration were offered to the people with the help of new revenue and municipal legislations. “While the people



of the State are happy, it is the opposition that is faced with bankruptcy of ideas. They don’t have an agenda to place before the people of the State,” he said.

Rama Rao said graduate voters must be educated about the developmental activities of the TRS party. “After formation of the State, we have so far filled 1.5 lakh jobs and more can be filled whenever the need arises. On the other hand, over 15 lakh jobs in the private sector were created by bringing in Rs 2 lakh crore investment through TS-iPass,” he added. He wished that the fruits of development meant for every single family of the State reaches the graduates in those families.

He said that augmentation of irrigation facilities in Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda districts led to large-scale farming transforming the erstwhile dry lands into lush green agricultural fields. “Many villages that suffered acute water shortage and fluoride problem are now recovering years of neglect. “TRS government has achieved this in just six years of time,” he said.

Listing out the developmental works undertaken in the districts that are going for council elections, he said that while Yadadri temple was being reconstructed in a never before manner, Warangal will be home to a mega textile park and hub for major IT companies. He announced that Khammam will have an IT tower by October and several food processing units including that of Buggapadu Processing Park will come up in the district very soon.

“TRS has a cadre strength of over 60 lakh. Every eligible graduate in them must be enrolled in the list,” he said adding that all the eligible people’s representatives and their family members must also enroll in the graduate voter list on October 1. He advised them to start the enrollment from their homes.
