TJS on Tuesday described the election results as “completely unexpected” and congratulated TRS on its thumping victory in the polls.
Speaking to reporters, TJS president Prof M Kodandaram said his party hoped that TRS keeps its promises to the people and works to uphold the Constitution. He, however, said there were many irregularities in voter registration with a large number of people losing their right to vote, which was “acknowledged by the Election Commission and it
apologised”.
This situation needs to be corrected, he said, adding that there were also some incidents of opposition alliance candidates being attacked and both these situations left indelible impressions, which should not be repeated.
TJS, he said, worked for the welfare of the common people and will continue to do so. “Our manifesto was also designed keeping this as the core principle, but we could not take our agenda to the people properly,” he said.
