He noted that
the TRS won 22 seats, including six unanimous out of 28 seats went for polls
out of 36 wards. Those others won include independents 7, Congress 2, BJP 2,
MIM one seat. Extending thanks to the people for reposing faith on the ruling
party, Harish Rao asked the members-elect to work for development, irrespective
of their party line. He also stated that he would try to get adequate funds for
Siddipet development. Due to delay in conducting elections Siddipet civic body
did not get funds from
14th finance commission, he said. “As
the election code is coming to a closure, I will now try to get the funds”, he
added.
In a related development, an IAS officer Dinakar Babu faced a bitter experience at the counting center for civic body elections in Siddipet. The local officials failed to identify him and prevented him from entering into the counting center. Irked at this, Dinakar Babu had expressed anguish and displeasure at the officials for not able to recognize him in spite of coming in a government vehicle.
Later, the officials, who came out of shock, finally allowed him into the counting center.
