Health Minister Dr. K. Lakshma Reddy on Sunday informed that for the first time in the country, Telangana Government would conduct a research on health issues pertaining to pregnant women and newborn children.
Addressing a national conference in Hyderabad today, the Health Minister said that the research would be conducted in Niloufer and Gandhi Hospitals. He said a special department would be created in both the public hospitals for
the purpose. He said students would be involved in the research programme by offerring them Fellowship. He said that main purpose of this research would be to reduce the mortality rate of pregnant women and infants.
Lakshma Reddy stressed on taking measures to reduce the mortality rate. He said that the State Government would always encourage research and other initiatives which could improve public health.
