The state government created job opportunities for five lakh people after the launch of TS-iPASS, industries and information technology minister KT Rama Rao said.Replying to a short-duration debate on TS-iPASS in the State Legislative Council on Monday, KTR said Global Investment Summit (GIS) would be held here next year to attract investments.
On the TS-iPASS, he said that so far 2,929
industries had been permitted in the state with an investment potential of `49,463 crore, and a potential for direct jobs to 1,95,390 youths and indirect employment to another 3 lakh. Of those sanctioned, 1,138 industries commenced their operations while establishment of 405 industries is nearing completion. The remaining units would start their commercial operations soon, he said.
