Rikkala Vikas, belonging to Jakranpally in Nizamabad district of Telangana, who won a lottery worth a whopping Rs 28.43 crore in the Big Raffle draw at Dubai.
He purchased the lottery ticket while returning from Dubai, by taking Rs 20,000 from his wife. Vikas, a resident of Jakranpally mandal headquarters in Nizamabad district, returned from Dubai after working there for two years as a labourer. Some 45 days ago he once again went to Dubai in search a job, but failed in his attempt and returned to India.
While returning, he wanted to purchase a lottery ticket at Dubai airport, but did not have the money to do so. He called up his wife and sought online transfer of Rs 20,000. His wife, Padma, requested Vikas' friend, Ravi, to buy the ticket for them and sent him Rs 20,000. Ravi bought two tickets on the name of Vikas Rikkala and got a free ticket as part of the scheme at Abu Dhabi airport. The ‘Big lottery’ company ticket's number was 223805.

Vikas won the first prize worth 15 million dirhams of UAE.
The first prize was valued at US $ 4.08 million, worth Rs 28,43,32,550 in Indian currency. In India, Vikas and his wife used to work as farm labourers and cultivate their land, earning Rs 2 to Rs 3 lakh a year. They have two daughters, Himani and Manaswini, who are studying Intermediate and Class VIII.
Expressing happiness over winning the first prize worth 1.5 crore UAE dirhams, Vikas gave full credit to his wife Padma, saying her encouragement for buying the ticket had won him the bumper prize worth Rs 28.45 crore.
He said he would visit Dubai and Abu Dhabi alongwith his family to take the prize money.
The second prize in the Big ticket Company draw was won by a Somali national, Afrah Suleman Ahmed, and the third prize was won by another Indian, Sarath Uday Krishnan, who got 1,90,000 dirhams. Five Indians won prizes in the Big Raffle lottery, out of nine members.
