The Telangana
government has decided to follow Akodara village model in Gujarat to make
Siddipet Assembly constituency as a model segment for cashless transactions in
the state. Transactions only up to Rs
500 can be in cash and over a period of time the government plans to do away
with this for hundred percent cashless transactions.
The government has also announced that a mobile application ‘TS-Wallet’, would be introduced soon towards cashless transactions. “The IT department is working on it and the TS-Wallet will be introduced soon. The App can be used for both government as well as private transactions,” chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said.Describing demonetisation as a “welcome step”, he said the endeavour of the Centre should eventually lead to “total revolution” in eradicating black money and corruption in the country.

he said, “why should we oppose demonetisation blindly? If Telangana has to survive, the state should
go in for cashless transactions. The country should become corruption-free.

With real estate sector receiving a big jolt due to demonetisation and chances of construction workers losing jobs, the Cabinet has decided to construct two bedroom houses in Hyderabad by spending `5,000 crore.
The Cabinet has also decided to install point of sale (PoS) swiping machines at registration, excise, agriculture market yards and encourage people to use mobile App or net banking for money transactions.
