Finance Minister Etela Rajender said on Tuesday that there was a sea-change in the attitude of university and college students, who in earlier times used to stage rallies and dharnas demanding proper food in their hostels. After the formation of the State, however, all these had become a thing of the past with the government ensuring supply of fine rice food besides providing various other comforts. The Minister, along with Forest Minister Jogu Ramana, was speaking at a felicitation function for IAS toppers from Telangana State at Indira Priyadarshini auditorium at Nampally

organised by the BC Vidyavanthula Vedika.

Rajender said that after formation of the new State, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao held a meeting with intellectuals and took a decision to supply fine rice food in all government residential and day-schools without bothering about the financial burden. “Earlier, students faced several challenges in government hostels including food issues, but the situation has completely changed now and students are making bee-lines to get admission in these schools,” the Minister said.
