The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees association has sounded the bugle for a strike protesting against the “anti-worker” policies of the State and Union governments.

The TSRTC JAC yesterday announced that they would go on strike on January 8 and 9, 2019. The JAC said different employees unions of the corporation served a strike notice on the management of TSRTC on Monday. The notice was handed over to the managing director of the corporation and the Secretary of the Transport department. The employees unions like Staff & Workers Federation, Staff & Workers Union Karmika Parishad, Bahujana Karmika Parishad Bahujana Karmika Union

and Bahujnana Workers Unions are among those who served strike notices on the management of the corporation.

Speaking on the occasion, the union leaders have alleged that the Centre was trying to harm the transport workers by amending an Act related to them. They also alleged that both the State and Union governments were not releasing arrears to the corporation and demanded that the two governments release the arrears immediately. They also demanded that both the State and Union governments bear the cost of losses sustained by the corporation on account of increasing diesel prices and GST on petrol and diesel.
