Senior administration of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) have continued to add and operate more buses in Hyderabad and across the State, which has brought much needed respite to commuters from the ongoing RTC strike.
On Friday, the seventh day of the RTC strike, senior transport officials said that they have managed to operate 5,788 buses out of which 3,766 were RTC buses while the rest of the 2022 were hired vehicles. Apart from it, as an alternative measure, close
to 6,000 private vehicles were also pressed into service across the State.
To curb the practice of overpricing of the bus tickets by private vehicle owners, senior RTC officials said that lot of focus is now being laid on issuing ticket machines to them. The authorities pointed out that vigilance will be strengthened across all the major bus terminals in the State, which would go a long way in keeping a tab on irregularities.
