Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) convener Ashwathama Reddy insisted that the strike would continue.

Trying to justify the actions of the unions, Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister’s statements were “hurting the sentiments” of the RTC workers. Speaking to the media at the Telangana Mazdoor Union office here on Friday, Reddy asked why the government was not holding talks and once again said the strike would continue till the demands of the JAC were met.

Stating that the RTC was a

common man’s service and that it should not be operated on a profit/loss basis, Reddy claimed that they were asking the government only to safeguard public transportation and to offer better bus services to passengers.

Meanwhile, JAC leaders said they would stage a protest on Saturday involving the children of RTC workers, while on Monday, plans were to lay siege to all district collectorates. There would be a ‘Sakala Janula Samme’ protest on October 30, most probably at the Saroornagar Stadium or the LB Stadium.
