Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is set to purchase 1,507 buses and operate them to AP, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa and Chhattisgarh. The corporation proposes to construct mini-theatres at 31 bus stations in the state. Apart from this, TSRTC will provide space for 105 petrol bunks at different bus stations. This is expected to fetch the TSRTC a revenue of Rs 40
crore.
Transport minister Mahendar Reddy told the Assembly during question hour on Wednesday that Rs 140 cr was allocated for purchasing AC buses. Of this amount, Rs 35 crore has already been released. He said that Vajra AC buses were being operated to Warangal and Nizamabad and if there was a need, such buses would be operated to other places also.
