The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will press into service as many as 550 special buses to meet devotee rush for Ganesh idol immersion on Thursday.
The buses will be drawn from TSRTC’s several depots, including those at Hayatnagar, Cantonment, Jeedimetla, Miyapur, BHEL and Rajendranagar.
Buses will travel from several parts of town such as Basheerbagh, Old MLA Quarters, TTD Kalyanamandapam at Liberty, Indira Park, Lakdikapul and Khairtabad to various places such as Kachiguda, Ramnagar, Toli Chowki, Gajularamaram, Bachupally, KPHB, Patencheru and Koti, among
others.
For smooth passage of processions and its participants travelling in buses on immersion day, TSRTC will depute Bandlaguda depot manager Babu Naik and Midhani depot manager T. Kishan Rao at the main police control room. TSRTC officials will also be posted at joint control rooms at NTR Marg, Tank Bund and at the main control room in Basheerbagh.
It will also deploy drivers and mechanical teams — 40 each in Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate limits, 66 drivers and 33 mechanics in Rachakonda and Cyberabad limits — to immediately attend to bus breakdowns, if any.
