Hyderabad: The Cybercrime police on Monday, registered a case against two persons for spreading false news on social media and attempting to create communal unrest in the city.

According to the police, the two persons with different Facebook profiles, had posted false news relating to the protest by migrant workers at Tolichowki on Sunday. The duo posted the pictures of the protest by migrants who demanded authorities



make arrangements for their return to their native place and wrote that the pictures were of members of a particular community protesting and asking the government to allow them to pray at one particular religious place of worship. The pictures went viral on social media soon, following which several persons complained to the police on Twitter and Facebook demanding action.

The police have booked a case and are investigating.
