In light of the rising incidents of minors driving vehicles on city roads and causing fatal road accidents, the Hyderabad Traffic Police (HTP) is launching a special enforcement drive from Saturday to curb this dangerous practice across Hyderabad. Necessary action against the violators, including cancellation of vehicle registration will also be taken-up during the course of the drive.

As per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, underage individuals are strictly prohibited from driving vehicle. If a minor is caught driving, the vehicle owner, typically the parent or registered owner is also held accountable and faces legal



consequences.
