In Telangana, as part of Meri Mati-Mera Desh, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy collected soil from house to house in Goshamahal Assembly Constituency on Monday. Along with Rajya Sabha Member Dr. K Lakshman, the Minister offered prayers at Durga Mata Temple and planted saplings. He administered a pledge taking spirit from the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country. Later, he collected soil and paid tributes to freedom fighter Vandemataram Ramachandra Rao at his
house.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Reddy said the entire country showed its national integrity beyond caste and creed during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He said we should take five pledges that everyone will contribute to the nation building, freedom from imperialism, support Indian culture and heritage, effort for national unity, and remember those who laid their lives for the country. The collected soil will become part of Amrit Vatika to be developed in Delhi.
