Medak: Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy yesterday dedicated the new railway line between Medak and Akkannapet railway stations to the nation. The 17 km long line has been laid at a cost of 205 crore rupees. He also flagged off the passenger train from Medak to Kachiguda at Medak railway station last evening. He also inaugurated the passenger ticket reservation and booking office on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the long-cherished dream of the
people has been realized with the new line from Medak to Akkanapet. He further said the centre has spent nearly 9500 crore rupees for various railway projects during the past 8 years. With this, he said the connectivity to Medak will be improved as it links with the Secunderabad-Mumbai railway line and more footfalls expected to the famous Medak Church, and local folk festivals besides improving market facilities for the local agriculture produce.
