Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a smart police station and smart policing has become a reality, said Union minister of state for home affairs Hansraj Ahir, who visited Panjagutta police station on Tuesday.
Director-general of police M Mahender Reddy and Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar accompanied the Union minister during his visit to Panjagutta police station, which was named the second best PS in the country. “This police station is an example of smart police station and smart policing.
I feel the award was rightly presented to Panjagutta PS. The facilities here are excellent, especially the innovative bicycle patrol concept where cops on bicycles are deployed for patrolling,” said Hansraj. He said crime rate has reduced in the state, especially in Hyderabad, in the last four years. He took the details of woman safety measures implemented in the state like SHE teams, community partnership programmes and said that the crime against women has come down in the past four years.
