UoH research scholar found dead in hostel

A research scholar from the University of Hyderabad was found lying dead in the bathroom of her hostel on the campus here on Monday. 

According to Gachibowli Police, the victim was identified as Dipika Mahapatra (29). She was a native of Odisha and was pursuing her Ph D in Hindi and was staying in a hostel on the campus. The incident came to light when the girl students noticed her lying in an unconscious state in the hostel common bathroom at 8 am.

University authorities who rushed to the spot and shifted her to a nearby private hospital for treatment, where she was declared brought dead by the doctors. During investigation, it was revealed, from her medical record available at the University Health Centre and from her relative, that she has been suffering from Neuro related disease and epilepsy and was on medication. Police said no external injuries were found. They shifted her body to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
