UoH students granted bail

Two faculty members and 25 students from University of Hyderabad, who are the accused in the case relating to ransacking the Vice Chancellor's office and attacking police personnel, were granted bail by a local court here on Monday. The Miyapur Metropolitan Magistrate Court granted bail to the accused as the public prosecutor did not oppose the bail. 

The court asked the students and faculty members to pay a one-time surety of Rs 5,000 each and directed them to appear before the Gachibowli police on every



Saturday. Counsel for the accused C Damodar Reddy told the media, “They (accused) have to pay a surety of Rs 5,000 per person and also have to appear before the Gachibowli SHO on every Saturday between 10 am and 1 pm. 

The public prosecutor did not oppose the bail and the judge did not pass any remarks while granting bail.” The students and professors were arrested by the police for allegedly vandalising the VC’s chamber and indulging in acts of violence on the UoH campus despite warnings by police.
