Urdu Academy doubles the amount of its awards

Telangana State Urdu Academy has decided to double the amounts of its awards. Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS issued orders in this regard.

According to the GO issued, Maqdoom award has been raised from Re. 1 lakh to

Rs. 2 lakhs. In the same manner, the amount of Lifetime Achievement Award will now be Rs. 50, 000 instead of Rs. 25, 000.

Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Director of Urdu Academy informed that Govt. has approved the enhancement of amounts.
