TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded that the State government construct a new building for Osmania General Hospital (OGH) in the vacant land on its premises and desist from demolishing the old structure.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the Nalgonda MP wanted the government to grant Rs 1,000 crore for the new OGH building and develop it into a multi super-speciality hospital. The plans



to demolishing the heritage building should be shelved, he said.

Stating that OGH’s name did not figure in the three new multi super-speciality hospitals being proposed in the State, he said about seven acres of vacant land is available on the OGH premises. A new hospital can be constructed in the place without disturbing the heritage building, he suggested.
