From the early hours of Friday, temples in Hyderabad witnessed a heavy rush of devotees seeking blessings and participating in religious rituals on the auspicious occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi.
Temples, mainly the Vaishnava temples, organised special prayers, discourses and religious rituals on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi.
Devotees observed fast and headed to the nearest temple to pray and seek blessings.
The TTD Sri Venkateswara Temples in Himayathnagar and Jubilee Hills, ISKCON temples in
Secunderabad, Abids, Hare Krishna Golden Temple in Jubilee Hills, Birla Mandir, Chilkur Balaji temple, attracted devotees in large numbers to take part in the devotional programs, rituals and cultural programs throughout Friday.
Temple managements also roped-in religious speakers to deliver spiritual discourses and talk about the significance of Vaikunta Ekadasi, the day, according to Hindu mythology, on which the gates of Vaikunta, the heavenly abode of Lord Vishnu, are opened.
