Veeresham to join Congress

Nakrekal BRS leader Vemula Veerasham went to Delhi on Friday, to join the Congress in the presence of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.

He had been maintaining a distance from the BRS after party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao renominated the local MLA, Chirumarthi



Lingaiah, for the Nakrekal (SC) seat in the December state elections.

Lingaiah, with the Congress in 2018, had defeated Veeresham but later joined the BRS. Veersham had tried to join the Congress a few days ago but the event was postponed.
