Senior IPS officer and Managing Director TSRTC, V C Sajjanar, on Thursday warned people against falling prey to cyber fraudsters who are threatening and extorting money by claiming to have issued a digital arrest warrant.

In a post on social media platform X, Sajjanar said cyber criminals are impersonating police, NCB, CBI, RBI and other law enforcement agencies. They extort money by convincing vulnerable people that they are under digital arrest.

“There is nothing like digital arrest in the law.



If anybody tells you that you are digitally arrested, please report it to the cyber crime wing or the nearest police station immediately,” he advised
