Vidyasagar Rao passes away in Hyderabad

Renowned Irrigation expert R Vidyasagar Rao, who was undergoing treatment for metastatic bladder Cancer, passed away at 11.23 a.m here on Saturday.

Rao was the Irrigation Advisor to the Government of Telangana and is considered an authority on irrigation matters. He was ailing for the last eight months and was being treated by a multidisciplinary team of medical experts at the Continental Hospitals. A hospital bulletin said the



malignant cancer progressed to other vital organs and his condition deteriorated. He suffered a cardiac arrest from which he was revived.

The overall condition again deteriorated due to worsening of his underlying conditions and he passed away peacefully, the bulletin added.Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao asked the Chief Secretary to make arrangements for organising a State funeral for Vidyasagar Rao.
