The condition of software employee from Hyderabad, who tested positive for COVID-19, remained stable at the isolation ward in Gandhi Hospital. The State surveillance teams have identified 88 close contacts, who could probably have picked-up the COVID-19 infection from the software employee.
Out of the 88 persons, nearly 45 close contacts have been brought to Gandhi Hospital who will now undergo diagnostic tests and health officials have also reached-out to the remaining 33 close contacts, who will also undergo tests for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Corporate hospitals in the twin cities have been advised by the State government to waste no time in reporting sick patients who have a travel history to countries were COVID-19 was
prevalent.
The COVID-19 positive patient of Hyderabad, before getting admitted to Gandhi Hospital, first approached Apollo Hospitals where he was treated for a day. As a result, the health care workers at Apollo Hospitals and even patients came in close contact with him. The district surveillance teams are now identifying the health care workers including doctors, paramedic staff, nurses and even patients of Apollo Hospitals who came in contact with the patient.
“We are identifying all of them and will put them in isolation and conduct tests. I have directed all private hospitals to be alert and immediately inform the officials, in case they come across patients with a travel history to countries,” Etela said.
