Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has decided to redeploy village revenue assistants (VRAs) working in the revenue department to the irrigation and other departments based on their educational qualifications.

The CM, after a review meeting, constituted a Cabinet sub-committee headed by minister K.T. Rama Rao to initiate talks with VRAs from Wednesday.

The VRAs had ended their 83-day strike in October

last year, demanding pay scales, service rules, promotions etc after state government promised to look into their demands.

The CM also decided to regularise the services of junior panchayat secretaries (JPSs) who completed four years of probation after assessing their performance. The JPSs had gone on a strike for over two weeks in April demanding regularisation of services.
