A day after allegations of bribe in the issuance of a no objection certificate (NOC) pertaining to 4.5 acre Wakf land in Medchal resurfaced, the Telangana State Wakf Board on Monday decided to seek CID investigation into the issue.
It was decided in the Board meeting on Monday to approach the State government for an investigation into this case by the CID and added that the Wakf Board would extend its support and assistance in the investigation, said CEO Shahnawaz Qasim.
Prima facie suggests this to be a case of criminal
conspiracy, he said. As Wakf Board has no authority to deal such issues, investigation agencies like CID will be able to bring out the truth, he added.
Meanwhile, Wakf Board chairman, Mohammed Saleem said that the guilty will not be spared. As government has taken a serious note, an impartial investigation would be done within a time frame, he added.
Mohammed Saleem said that Board has already cancelled the Gazette which was issued in the favour of land grabbers on the basis of NOC.
