The Telangana State Wakf Board on Friday decided to bring Dargah Yousufain under its direct management from July 29 as the term of the temporary caretaker has ended.

The Board took this decision in its last meeting. The three-year term of Mutawalli Abul Fateh Shah Hasan Shabbir Mohammed Al-Hussaini ended on July 28, said Wakf Board Chairman Mohammed Saleem.

According to him, three years ago Adul Fateh Shah was appointed as Mutawalli of one of the oldest and revered shrines of Hyderabad after Mutawalli Syed Faisal Ali Shah was removed as caretaker for his alleged involvement in irregularities.

Saleem said the Board will appoint a new management committee in its upcoming

meeting.

Meanwhile, Mutawalli Syed Faisal Ali Shah claimed that he had got a stay on his termination from the High Court and the Board cannot take the institution under its direct management.

The dargah’s attached properties — worth 30,834 sq yards – are major assets for the Board, bringing in huge revenues.Apart from shops and property, the dargah has 11 hundis, which receive lakh of rupees annually from scores of devotees who come here from the different parts of the country.

According to official sources, of the 11 hundis, those numbering 1 and 6 have been earmarked for maintenance while the receipts from the remaining are going to the Board.
