Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll on Nov 21

Hyderabad: The Election Commission on Wednesday announced the much-awaited schedule for the byelection to the Warangal Parliamentary constituency. The bypoll will be held on November 21.

The byelection  was necessitated as sitting MP K Srihari quit the post following his induction into the Telangana Cabinet as Deputy Chief Minister holding the Education portfolio.       

As per the schedule, the



notification for the byelection will be issued on October 28 and the last date to file nomination is November 4.  

Scrutiny of nominations and the last date for the withdrawal is November 4 and 7, respectively. The counting of votes will be held on November 24.  

The Commission said the model code of conduct will come into force with immediate effect in the districts where the byelection is held.
