Following incessant rainfall, the water level at Hussain Sagar has touched alarming level and the officials today have released around 3,095 cusecs of water to downstream. The current inflow into Sagar is 3,486 cusecs.
Meanwhile, the officials alerted the people residing in the low-lying areas. The water is being released over Kavadiguda, Ashok Nagar,
Chikkadpally, Bagh Lingampally, Koranti hospital, Satyanagar and Ratnanagar to main canal of the Musi river.
However, the people vented out anger as GHMC has not deployed any rescue teams. They also said that the situation like in the year 2000 is going to repeat if the rains continue to lash for a week.
