BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday termed the Congress leaders "puppets" in the hands of Delhi leaders, who cannot protect the interests of Telangana. He said some leaders from Karnataka were coming to Telangana with money bags to derive electoral benefits during the Assembly elections on November 30.
"Be careful with such people. Think wisely before casting your vote and not to believe in rumours," he said at a press conference in Sircilla after the election campaign came to an end in the evening. "We are not saying that everything was done. More needs to be achieved and some mistakes happened. We are human beings and not Gods," Rama Rao said, admitting that there is some dissatisfaction.
Rama Rao said that the party would correct its mistakes and everything would will be completed the next time. "We have done 90 things out of 100. Please see the transformation in the state, especially in Hyderabad. Several companies like Google, Apple, Amazon and Foxconn set up companies in the city. Can’t we do those 10 things?" he said.
The minister said the state government under leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had implemented Rythu Bandhu, Dalit Bandhu, 24-hour free power supply, Yadadri temple, Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya among others schemes.
He said no one could love Telangana more than the BRS, he said. "Our strength is Telangana," he said, adding that Telangana has a visionary leader who was the Chief Ministerial candidate. "Who is there in
other parties? Only brokers, buffoons and cheats," Rama Rao said.
Chandrashekar Rao’s was the only voice of Telangana and attempts were being made to suppress that voice and it was the responsibility of everyone to protect it.
"In 70 years of election history, Telangana ensured victory for many parties but the BRS is the only party that won Telangana. We are again trying to make Telangana win and that is the difference. The BJP and the Congress are trying to win elections in the state to derive mileage," Rama Rao said.
Referring to promises made by the Congress during the election campaign, Rama Rao cautioned people against falling into a trap or else the hard work done in the last few years would turn into ashes. "If we don’t have a strong leader like KCR, we don’t get any schemes, companies, power and water supply and projects," Rama Rao explained.
"We will be left with tears only, if we believe in crocodile tears shed by Congress leaders," Rama Rao said. He said the Congress does not have a leader with Chief Minister’s stature and the leaders within the party would fight for the Chief Minister’s chair. "Telangana would be affected if there is no stable government in the state," he said.
Rama Rao further stated that Congress was earlier thrown in a garbage bin and the same Congress made the people in Telangana to cry for 50 years and left everyone with tears by sucking blood, killing innocent people.
