Hyderabad Gear up for a rather hot and humid weather over the next few days as weakening of low pressure areas over central parts of the country is set to increase the maximum temperature in the city up to 36 degree Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, shifting of monsoon trough to the foothills of the Himayalas is likely to cause reduced rainfall over most parts of Telangana from August 7.
"We have received enormous amount of rain over the 45 days. Now, as the trough shifts northwards, it will cause a monsoon break in the central parts of the country, resulting in rise in maximum temperature. It's a usual phenomenon that we experience every year from last week of July to mid-August," said A Shravani, meteorologist, IMD, Hyderabad, adding that intense spell of rainfall is likely to resume from August 13.
The maximum

temperature in Hyderabad, which is hovering between 31-33 degree Celsius, is likely to rise by one or two degree Celsius in the next few days.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature is several districts such as Medak, Bhadrachalam, Khammam, Nalgonda, Hanamkonda was two to three degree Celsius above normal for this time of the season.
Meteorologists said that the rise in mercury levels may lead to isolated rains and thundershowers in parts of city. "Usually, whenever there are westerly winds associated with heat, it triggers isolated rains in some parts. Depending on the wind situation, we can expect isolated rain in some parts of the city," said Shravani.

From June 1 till date, Telangana has recorded 40% excess rainfall totalling 564.1 mm as against normal of 403.8 mm. Hyderabad has recorded 44% excess rains at 442.9 mm as against the normal of 306.8 mm.
