Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday declared that he had decided to take up the challenge of bringing about a qualitative change in national politics and the way the country was governed “because someone has to do it.”

“I will strive to achieve this goal with every ounce of my energy. Someone has to do it. And I have decided to do so. The country needs a qualitative change that puts the agenda of the people first. When I raised the flag for Telangana State, many were skeptical. I achieved it with your support,” he said.

“The country too has to change. As a zimmedar person, someone who understands the resources the country is blessed with, I am ready to do so again for India,” Chandrashekhar Rao said. “I gave the call, and many are willing to join,” he added.

The Chief Minister, leading the call for formation of a Federal Front for change in the way India is governed, said he was not in the habit of making idle talk. “After you supported us tremendously in the Assembly elections and made me Chief Minister again, I could have just enjoyed another term in office. Like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi, I too can just indulge in some sweet talk and go,” he said.

Chandrashekhar Rao said that instead, he chose to do something about politics in the country and putting the needs of the people, their welfare and India’s development ahead of other issues.

India, he said, has the highest population of young people anywhere in the world and has natural resources that were not put to use properly by Congress and BJP governments at the Centre. “This is because leaders who ruled the country so far were ignorant. As a consequence, India has been

suffering,” he said.

And since they failed in using what India is blessed with, all they do is accuse each other, call each other a thief and try to make it sound that there is no alternative to them when it comes to governing India. They pose as if someone other than them is responsible for how India is today, he said.

“Do not fall for their tactics of sowing confusion. People are turning away from these parties. Rahul Gandhi addressed three meetings today with just 3,000 to 5,000 people attending them. And Modi sat waiting outside the LB Stadium because there was no crowd to listen to him when he reached there,” he said.

Chandrashekhar Rao said Congress and BJP were content with shouting at each other. “I asked them simple questions. Why is half the country in darkness without power? Why is the country suffering from lack of drinking water and irrigation? India has ample supplies of both resources. They do not have an answer to my questions,” he said.

The TRS chief said he has “complete information from Delhi that BJP and Congress will not get a majority in the Lok Sabha and the Centre will be ruled by a coalition of regional parties.”

This is why, he said, people in Telangana should elect all 16 TRS MP candidates. “With this strength and all the strength that God has given me, I will use all my abilities and work to change the fate and direction of this country,” he said.

Instead of talking about substantive issues related to the country, Modi sticks to talking about how ‘KCR believes in astrology’. A Prime Minister should talk about the country, workers, farmers, challenges it faces and how to solve them, Chandrashekhar Rao said.
