IT minister KT Rama
Rao said they had tied up with funding agencies for an amount of `11,000 crore
for the construction of two bedroom housing programmes for weaker sections.
Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, KTR said they are determined to construct
one lakh 2BHK houses in Hyderabad in the next one year so as to provide
employment to building workers.
The minister said
contractors are presently engaged in construction of irrigation projects, road
works and other infrastructure building works. “This is the reason for the
slow
pace in the construction of 2BHK houses,” he said. He assured that Hyderabad
would be developed as an international city in the next seven to eight years.
“Hyderabad will witness radical development in the next two-and-half-years time,” Rama Rao added. The Unified Service rules for municipal employees, which allows GHMC staff to get transfer to other municipalities, will be placed before the Cabinet soon. The transfer of GHMC to other municipalities and vice versa would decrease the corruption, he informed.
