Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav asked the officials concerned to develop libraries in the city with all facilities and new books and help the students for competitive examinations. The Minister said that as part of first phase Rs 1 cr from collector special funds will be spent for developing 20 libraries out of 86 in the twin cities in three months on a pilot basis.
The minister held a review meeting on the need for developing libraries with Hyderabad Collector Yogitha Rana and officials at Secretariat here. He said that he will take up the issue to the notice of Chief Minister, K
Chandrasekhar Rao and get adequate funds for renovating the libraries with modern books and facilities. He asked the local corporators and donars to develop the libraries and provide better environment for students and youth.
Librarians should make efforts to develop the libraries he said. There are no latest books and some libraries need repairs. Srinivas Yadav also said that he will conduct a meeting with district MLAs on the issue at Haritha Plaza on Jan 31.
